About us
From the start
Our Web Services has evolved and grown since 2022 when it started out as Dave’s side project in his spare time. The involvement and understanding of ‘all things technical’ however started well before that with a degree in computer science. This lead to a job doing IT support and then in 2009 as a “Webmaster’s Assistant”, helping to update 12 corporate websites & supporting internal marketing teams across the UK. Following on to become a development team lead and senior web developer for a large corporate organisation.
In 2012, as well as his full time corporate job, Dave started indirectly supporting small & medium businesses across the UK in a freelance / advisory capacity via a creative agency on the south coast. During late 2021 several of the creative agency’s end customers preferred asking Dave directly for support instead of their current hosting provider. This gave him an idea and in 2022 ‘Our Web Services Ltd’ was born. Now we have expanded the team and grown the brand to offer many different web services to help with hosting, maintaining, and building sites to name but a few. Dave also enjoys creating new plugins and is constantly expanding the range he can offer.
What makes us different
Even our guinea pigs are involved! That’s surely a USP?! In all seriousness though, we feel we can offer a blend of technical expertise covering a growing range of web services but with a human rather than corporate touch.
Meet the team
Scruffy is our CMO – chief morale officer (as decided by our daughter) and Yoshi is his understudy and younger brother. Scruffy is great at cuddles, while Yoshi lends a sympathetic ear when we are ponding over a design or a new product. A perfect break from the screen.
Our Story & Vision
As a family owned business, we hope to help other businesses with our positive, helpful, caring and clear way of communicating with clients. If you have a good understanding of all the technical terms then Dave is the perfect person to talk through any requirements. However if you want it all explained in simple user friendly terms we can do that too. He’s had over 12 years explaining it all to me, with lots of analogies and limited jargon so I can understand! We want to work together with you whether you need a new site, to ask questions or make tweaks to an existing site, a site health check or just need hosting.
